Patrick - Irish Name - Fine Art Print

Patrick. From the Latin Patricius - meaning a member of the patrician class. The patricians were Rome's original hereditary ruling class: the old families who sat in the Senate, held the great offices and owned the land. The beautiful irony, of course, is that the most famous bearer of the name came to Ireland as a slave, returned as a bishop, and converted the Irish. The full story of Patrick - its meaning, history, and place in Ireland - is set down in the print.
