Kerry - Irish Name - Fine Art Print

Kerry - from the Irish Ciarraí, the people of Ciar - Ciar, a son of Fergus mac Róich in the old genealogies, whose name means dark - so that the county is, letter for letter, the country of the dark one, and the name is one of the rare ones that holds a whole landscape: the Reeks with their heads in the weather, the Skelligs standing out in the Atlantic like the last full stop of Europe, and every road ending in ocean. It has been given to sons and daughters alike wherever Irish people settled, a county worn as a keepsake. Kerry Condon of Thurles carried it onto the world's screens and won the BAFTA for The Banshees of Inisherin, with an Academy Award nomination besides. The full story of Kerry - its meaning, history, and place in Ireland - is set down in the print.
