Frances - Irish Name - Fine Art Print

Frances - the feminine of Francis, from the Latin Franciscus, the Frenchman - though it took until the seventeenth century for the spelling with an e to be settled on daughters, the name has been quietly outdoing its brother ever since. Ireland's own Frances sings: Frances Black of Dublin, youngest of the singing Black family, whose debut album Talk to Me went straight to number one in Ireland in 1994 - and who carried the same clear voice into the Seanad in 2016. A Frances says the thing that needs saying, in a voice you want to hear say it. The full story of Frances - its meaning, history, and place in Ireland - is set down in the print.
