Alana - Irish Name - Fine Art Print

... from the Irish a leanbh, meaning 'my child' - the simplest spelling of the oldest endearment in the Irish language, and perhaps for that reason the one that travels furthest. A leanbh was the sound of a mother's love in Ireland for centuries before it became a given name, and in its journey from cradle-word to christening font it shed syllables the way a river sheds stones - arriving at Alana, clean and clear and carrying its meaning lightly.

The full story of Alana - its meaning, history, and place in Ireland - is set down in the print.
