tyson-celtic-name-print-fine-art-print
Tyson - Irish Name - Fine Art Print

... from the Old French tison, a firebrand - a burning brand snatched from the fire - an old surname for the fierce and quick-tempered that became, in our time, a first name with a champion's ring to it. Mike Tyson gave it its thunder, youngest heavyweight champion in history at just twenty; Neil deGrasse Tyson carried the same name clean out of the ring and up among the stars, the astrophysicist who has spent a lifetime handing the universe to anyone who will look up. And if the name means fire, it was always going to be at home in Ireland, for fire is one of the oldest names the Irish ever gave their sons: Aodh, the Old Irish word for fire itself, was borne by high kings and figures of myth beyond counting, and it burns on today as Hugh. A firebrand is a small thing with large intentions - lit, carried, handed on. The full story of Tyson - its meaning, history, and place in Ireland - is set down in the print.

This print
Created in the Celtic uncial script tradition, with original Celtic knotwork ornament designed by Maggi Geraghty.
